FURTHER EXPLANATION OF LIFE WORK
Dennis began sculpting at the age of four with a pocketknife. He
carved with this tool alone until high school at which time he inherited
tools such as mallet chisels and gouges.
Because of his love and interest in wildlife Dennis earned a degree
in Wildlife Management, paying his way through college doing hand
carving. After graduation because of his God given talent in sculpting
he decided to combine this talent with his knowledge of wildlife
and make his career in sculpting.
He began using his chainsaw in 1974 to rough in a large sculpture.
Very quickly he began producing finished wood sculptures using only
the chainsaw unless requested to carve added detail with his hand
tools. Today he seldom uses hand tools, as his chainsaw detail is
sufficient.
